Lark(male)
7 weeks old
Pit Bull Terrier Mix (Black and White coat)
8lbs
Lark came to our rescue with his litter mates at only 5 days old, when his mom was sadly hit by a car and passed. We were overjoyed to bring him into our foster home, bottle feed him and watch him grow. He fought his way through life so far and has shown great affection towards adults, kids and other dogs. He, unlike his sister Puffin, is more of a watcher at first before he jumps into new things. He likes to follow his sister and bigger dogs at first. He very much looks to his people for comfort and sits in your lap when he’s tired or just needs a break from playing. He loves to play tug with his sister, play chase around the yard and wants the big dogs to play with him, even though he’s a little too small still, but shhh don’t tell him! The world is a very new and big place so he looks to his humans for comfort and safety. He will give you kisses and likes to snuggle.
Because he’s part pit, we’re looking for an adopter who understands the stigma society associated with this breed and is excited to be an advocate for just how loyal, gentle, and let’s face it - sometimes comically dramatic- pit bulls can be.
He is looking for a home who is ready and committed to taking on puppy life: potty training; teething and chewing will all be part of who he is for a little while. He is doing great with his potty pads and understands not to make a mess where he sleeps and plays! Since he’s so young, he’ll need someone who is home most of the day to take him potty. But he promises to balance those things by giving you lots of sweet kisses and puppy love.
If interested, please complete the Adoption Application on our website at www.NeedyPaws.org and we will contact you. Adopters must live within an hour’s drive of St. Louis, MO.
Our $295 adoption fee includes up-to-date vaccinations, heartworm testing and preventative, spay/neuter and microchip.
We are a 100% foster-based rescue and all of our dogs live in approved foster homes. We are dedicated to finding the best Forever Homes, and will perform home visits and conduct veterinarian and reference checks for each potential adopter.
