Meet Boomer, a 4 year old Airedale Terrier mix.  Boomer is a special dog looking for a special home.  Boomer came to Needy Paws over the summer after his owner had health problems and could no longer care for her dogs.  He was one of a large pack that lived in her backyard.  He was very shy initially, which was expected, but we also discovered he is almost completely blind.  He is slowly coming out of his shell in his foster home.  He walks very well on a leash once he is comfortable with his home and neighborhood and enjoys a leisurely walk every day with a few treat breaks.  His favorite times of day are breakfast and dinner.  He's very low energy, so he would be easy for someone who isn't very active.  Because of his shyness and vision issues, he would do best in a quieter home, where there is a good routine and very few day-to-day changes.  He's an early bird, often waking up at dawn, so it would probably be helpful for his human to be an early bird too.

Boomer’s adoption fee is $125.00, which includes up-to-date vaccinations, heartworm testing and preventative, neuter and microchip.

We are a 100% foster-based rescue and all of our dogs live in approved foster homes.  We are dedicated to finding the best Forever Homes and we will perform home visits and conduct veterinarian and reference checks for each potential adopter. In most cases, our adopters will need to live within an hours drive of St. Louis, MO.
