|
12 weeks (born 10/14 /23)Current weight 13 pounds (Estimated adult weight 35-50)Merlot is looking for a family that will help him burn off his puppy energy with long walks, hikes in the woods and another dog in the family to play with. He would love a house with a fully fenced yard so he can run & play. Agility course training would be especially appealing to this working breed dog.He is just beginning to work on potty training and he will need continued training in his new home. He has been working on "no" "come" and "sit". He is treat motivated and highly trainable. He currently sleeps all night in a puppy pen without making any noise during the night and has been doing well with his crate training for several hours at a time during the day, but would not do well crated all day.Families interested in adopting Merlot should research the exercise & mental stimulation needs of Heelers (aka Australian Cattle Dogs). They need an active family, another dog in the home to use up their energy and a secure fenced yard to run & play. Unfortunately apartments are not a good fit for the breed. Can you give Merlot the active lifestyle he needs? If interested, please complete the Adoption Application on our website at www.NeedyPaws.org and we will contact you. Adopters must live within an hour’s drive of St. Louis, MO.
Our $275 adoption fee includes up-to-date vaccinations, heartworm testing and preventative, spay/neuter and microchip.
We are a 100% foster-based rescue and all of our dogs live in approved foster homes. We are dedicated to finding the best Forever Homes, and will perform home visits and conduct veterinarian and reference checks for each potential adopter.
