Meet Chip!  He is an 11 month Lab.  We met Chip at our local animal control, he was shivering in the corner of his cage doing anything he could to disappear.  Chip was feral and had never had human contact prior to coming to Needy Paws, he was terrified of being touched. Over the past 4 months, Chip has really blossomed.  As you can see, he loves other dogs and is good with cats, although he does like to playfully chase from time to time.  Chip is 90% house trained too and loves going in his crate.

While Chip has come a long way, he is looking for a special home.  We will require that Chip goes to a family with another playful, confident dog to help him to continue to blossom.  Chip will also need a 6 foot fence, he will be scared switching to a new environment and will be a flight risk until he settles in.  Chip is still nervous/barky around strangers, but will approach if they sit and ignore him and offer hotdogs or other treats.  Chip is just starting to walk on a leash, so will need a family willing to be patient and work with him on leash training and other things.  Needy Paws will set you up with a training session with one of our trainers to help get you started on the right path.  It’s important to understand that you may not be able to pet him for weeks/months after adoption.  Once he trusts you, he will keep you entertained as he is all Lab and full of silly, puppy antics. Chip is a typical puppy that will require ongoing training.

Chip ’s adoption fee is $100.00, which includes up-to-date vaccinations, heartworm testing and preventative, spay/neuter and microchip.

We are a 100% foster-based rescue and all of our dogs live in approved foster homes. We are dedicated to finding the best Forever Homes, and will perform home visits and conduct veterinarian and reference checks for each potential adopter.
