Hi, I’m Joan!
My foster parents say that I am about 30 pounds and around a year old, and that I have the softest shiny black fur.
I’m told I’m very smart and that I pick up new tricks really quickly! I’ll do just about anything for praise or a piece of kibble. So far I know sit, place, crate, touch, and to wait for the release word “okay.” I love to use my brain!
I live in an apartment right now and it’s been great, but I certainly wouldn’t turn down a yard to run around in! I’m great with other dogs, cats, and kids, but it’s worth noting that like many young dogs I can get a little mouthy when I’m excited.
I sleep through the night in my kennel, and I’m comfortable hanging out there during the day if I need to. However, I haven’t been destructive at all! I much prefer spending time with my people, playing with my toys, or chewing on my bone.
I am working on potty training, and I’ve been really good at it with a consistent schedule. I’m also practicing how to “settle” - the world is just so exciting, and I want to explore!
In this snowstorm, I haven’t gone on many long walks, but I know how to walk on a leash and my foster parents bet I would really enjoy an active family. Could I be a good fit for you?
