This handsome guy is Billy, a 3 year old Chihuahua mix.  He is a little dog with a big personality.  He is a wonderful companion who makes sure that his family is taken care of. He loves to stay close to his people, following them so that he can be within reach of cuddles and belly rubs.  Nothing makes him happier than being held and carried around.  If it happens to be chilly, he likes to wear a sweater to stay warm and cozy. Of course, Billy definitely gets around on his own.  He loves to run and play with other dogs.  Actually, this is where his "big personality" comes in.  Billy does his best to make sure that the other dogs are having fun by “telling” them how to play.  He can be quite a vocal little guy when he wants to make a point.  He also makes sure that all of the toys are safe by stealthily retrieving and hoarding them.  If another dog should happen to invade his toy stash, the hilarious chase is on.

Billy gets along with other dogs and does not mind cats.  He would probably do best with older kids or no kids in the home as too much hyper energy tends to overwhelm him.  He is learning basic obedience commands like "sit" and that "ah ah" means NO.  He stays in a crate while at home alone and is working on house-training.  He does seem to be trained to use potty pads inside.  Billy is looking for a forever home where he can be a loved member of the family.  In turn, he has so much love to give.  He may be small, but his heart is gigantic.

Billy’s adoption fee is $250.00, which includes up-to-date vaccinations, heartworm testing and preventative, neuter and microchip.

We are a 100% foster-based rescue and all of our dogs live in approved foster homes.  We are dedicated to finding the best Forever Homes and we will perform home visits and conduct veterinarian and reference checks for each potential adopter. In most cases, our adopters will need to live within an hours drive of St. Louis, MO.
