This beautiful girl is Foxy Mama, a 22 lb, 4 year old Jack Russel Terrier/Border Collie mix. When Foxy Mama was rescued, she was feral, meaning she had no experience with humans. She has made great strides but still needs an experienced adopter (OR one who is very patient and will continue to work with her).  She is incredibly curious and highly food motivated, which has been the key to her training and development. 

Foxy Mama has started playing with toys and she’s learning and mimicking the other dogs in her foster home. She loves nylabones, chicken and all treats.  She has mastered many puzzle toys and is smart as a whip.  Foxy Mama loves to go on walks, car rides and most recently she has started sunbathing in the back yard. She will need a least one well socialized dog in her forever home, since she absorbs knowledge from other dogs. Foxy Mama would do best in a home without young children.  We are unsure about cats, but her foster mom thinks they would be fine, as long as they are lower energy or if they respect her space (no kittens).  Foxy Mama even has a cat-like personality, and is often described by her foster mom as a "cat in a dog body".  She has learned to walk on a leash, but is still skittish from time to time.  Foxy Mama is VERY close to being house and crate trained, but isn't quite there.  This lovely lady is very low maintenance.  She will not jump all over you when you come home, she doesn't need much grooming other than a regular bath and brush and the occasional trim, and she loves other dogs.   

Foxy Mama prefers to be near you, but just outside of arm’s reach.  She seeks out affection only on occasion (particularly when she’s copying other dogs who are loving on their foster mom), but is not a lap dog or a snuggler. She is very capable of love but she is a special case and will need someone who understands you have to work to earn her trust.  She would do best in a stable and routine home. If you have the time and patience to make Foxy Mama a permanent part of your home, please contact us today.

Foxy Mama’s adoption fee is $250.00, which includes up-to-date vaccinations, heartworm testing and preventative, spay and microchip.   We are a 100% foster-based rescue and all of our dogs live in approved foster homes.  We are dedicated to finding the best Forever Homes and we will perform home visits an conduct veterinarian and reference checks for each potential adopter.
