There's a story behind the face of Elyse. Elyse was once an indoor dog and part of a family but they got tired of her and made her stay outside. She then got pregnant and instead of helping this sweet girl they just let her have her babies in a dirt pen during the hot summer. Some wonderful people found out about poor Elyse, got her out of that terrible condition and brought the little family to St. Louis where she was taken care of by A Mother's Safe Haven until they were old enough to be adopted thru Needy Paws. Now it's Elyses turn to find her forever family.

Elyse is a Shepherd mix. She's a little shy a first but with a few treats it doesn't take long for her to warm up to people. She is house and crate trained and gets along with other dogs with the proper introductions. We don't know how she would do with cats.

Elyse’s adoption fee is $250.00, which includes up-to-date vaccinations, heartworm testing and preventative, spay and microchip.

We are a 100% foster-based rescue and all of our dogs live in approved foster homes.  We are dedicated to finding the best Forever Homes and we will perform home visits and conduct veterinarian and reference checks for each potential adopter. In most cases, our adopters will need to live within an hours drive of St. Louis, MO.
