Meet little Miss Cora a Shih Tzu Bichon mix. Cora came to us in extremely poor condition after being used as a breeder dog for most of her life and her grooming needs were almost nonexistent. Although Cora has had a challenging past, she is a gentle and sociable dog. Like all dogs, she may require several days to adjust to new people. She has moved on from her former circumstances and has expressed that she does not intend to return, as she is highly satisfied with her current life.
Cora is currently in a foster home with small dogs, and she also lives with a cat, but she just thinks the cat is another dog. Cora would be fine with another dog but more importantly she would do best with an owner who is home often, either retired or work from home. She does tend to get somewhat nervous when she’s by herself, so I think having someone home often is best for her. She likely wouldn’t do well alone all day in a crate. Cora is learning to walk and potty on a leash. Ideally, she would love to have a fenced in yard until she is fully leashed trained.
She is also mostly potty trained and has had very few accidents in the house. She doesn't signal to go out, so her foster frequently takes her outside. Cora has just discovered the toy box and loves pulling out the toys. She also plays with the other small dogs in the home. Cora currently sleeps in a small puppy pen at night.
This girl is so deserving of a home to live her best life.
