Meet Cheri!
Cheri is a one-of-a-kind 2–3-year-old schnauzer mix with endless happy-go-lucky vibes. Born with two rear luxating patellas—meaning both of her back legs turned out at a 90-degree angle—Cheri never let anything slow her down. She ran and played like a champ, though a little like Phoebe Buffay from Friends, a little quirky but always full of energy and joy.
Happy news: both knees have been surgically corrected, and Cheri has completed her physical therapy. While her walk will always have a bit of her original quirky style, she’s stronger and closer to “normal” every day—and her playful personality shines brighter than ever!
Cheri is playful, playful, playful! She loves:
Wrestling with her foster siblings (big or small, as long as they play respectfully)
Carrying around socks, rocks, and toys
Hiding her treasures around the house
Following her foster mama everywhere she goes
She’s potty trained, crate trained, and requires a home with another dog who can match her playful energy—but gently enough to accommodate her size. Cheri has successfully played with dogs weighing 35–65 pounds. She has a big dog play style in a little 17 pound body. At the end of night, she loves snuggling up on the couch with her humans. She will need regular grooming.
Her forever family would ideally help her finish her final weeks of therapy for a smooth transition, so her doctor can show you stretches and exercises to continue her muscle development on her new, fancy legs. No long-term medical care is expected—just lots of love, fun, and adventures with a pup who will melt your heart every day.
Cheri is ready to charm her forever family—could that be you?
