Meet Wicket a 5 ½ year old 15 pound Pomeranian Poodle Mix. Wicket was surrendered to Needy Paws when his elderly mom became ill and could no longer care for him. He was very loved in his previous home and he’s a very sweet happy guy.
Wicket is still adjusting to being away from his mom that he’s known for all his life and is figuring this out. He does wonderful with the other small dogs in his foster home but doesn’t interact much with them as he’s always been an only dog. He’s probably happiest being an only dog and spending all his spare time on your lap. Wicket is a friendly guy with cats, BUT he needs to be a home with NO cats ! You see cats give him anxiety and make him anxious.
He is mostly potty trained, but he should be watched and let out often. Most of his accidents are during the night and he is currently gated in the kitchen at night. We just keep a belly band on him at night, and so far, he’s doing much better and waiting until morning to go outside to do his business. He’s good on a leash as well. Wicket will do best with a fenced yard so he can be let out often to do his potty business.
When foster mom must run errands, he stays in the kitchen and settles down and goes to his bed after a few minutes.
At the end of the day Wicket will lay next to you on the couch or better yet, on your lap and snooze away. He would probably do best in a home with someone who is home often, as this is what he’s been used to. He is just the sweetest and would love to have his very own home again.
