Shadow has had some big changes in her life. She spent many years being loved and cared for until her owner became very sick and had to make the heart breaking decision to find her another home.
Shadow is an 8 yr old, female lab mix with moderate energy, a beautiful smile, and LOTS of love to give. She is a 40 pound dog trapped in a 60 pound body. Shadow is on a weigh loss journey in her foster home and is LOVING all of the walks she’s getting.
If you’re looking for a snuggle buddy who won’t eat your shoes or pee on your floor, Shadow is the girl for you. She is reliably house trained, doesn’t need to be crated, has basic obedience training (sit, down, come), and walks nicely on leash. She has lived with dogs and cats in the past. Shadow can be a little bossy with her canine housemates, but she’s easily redirected and understands her foster mom is the boss around here. She can peacefully live with other dogs in a home where there are boundaries and limits set with food and toys, or she would also be happy being an only dog. Shadow would do fine in an apartment if given the chance to walk several times a day. She happily greets guests when they come over and loves attention!

Adopters must live within an hour’s drive of St. Louis, MO.
Shadow’s adoption fee is $275.00, which includes up-to-date vaccinations, heartworm testing and preventative, spay/neuter and microchip.
We are a 100% foster-based rescue and all of our dogs live in approved foster homes. We are dedicated to finding the best Forever Homes, and will perform home visits and conduct veterinarian and reference checks for each potential adopter.
