Meet Daisy (her official name is Chamomile, but she answers to Daisy)!
Daisy is a Shih Tzu. She is 10 years old and weighs 17 lbs. She was adopted from Needy Paws 3 years ago, which is why the name on her record is Chamomile, but her adopter had to return her after experiencing health issues.
Daisy is the sweetest little dog. She has a shy nature but enjoys being petted and scratched behind her ears. She lived with another small dog and cats in her former home so she would get along well with those in her new home. She would do best in a relatively quiet home and would be fine with older children.
Daisy is house-trained and does great in a kennel or puppy pen when her foster mom has to leave the house. She sleeps in bed with her foster at night and enjoys her dog bed in the living room. She walks pretty well on a leash (she likes to stop and sniff quite a bit) and enjoys exploring the yard.
Daisy does not appear to be comfortable walking on stairs at this time and she will not jump on or off furniture on her own, so
her adopter will need to be able to physically lift her (17 lbs)
if she needs to do stairs or go into the car. She doesn't like to be picked up, so she will sometimes squirm when she is being lifted or put down and she needs to be handled carefully so she doesn't fall. She has never growled or nipped when being picked up, and she may get better about this issue with time, but we wanted to include it in her profile because she would not be the best fit for an adopter with mobility issues.

Adopters must live within an hour’s drive of St. Louis, MO.
Chamomile’s adoption fee is $275.00, which includes up-to-date vaccinations, heartworm testing and preventative, spay/neuter and microchip.
We are a 100% foster-based rescue and all of our dogs live in approved foster homes. We are dedicated to finding the best Forever Homes, and will perform home visits and conduct veterinarian and reference checks for each potential adopter.
