Meet Aldi! This sweet little boy is obsessed with SNUGGLING. No matter the time of day, he loves nothing more than burrowing deep under the covers to cuddle with you. For this reason, we are looking for a home where he is allowed to sleep on the furniture, especially the "people beds." He enjoys spending time with his family, giving kisses, and barking hello to delivery people. Aldi is looking for a quiet home without a lot of people coming in and out.

Aldi is 3 years old, about 10 lbs, and looks like a pug/chihuahua mix (a "chug"). Like many small dogs, he has "stranger danger." His routine goes like this: 1) a new person enters his house, 2) he barks at them for 20-30 minutes, 3) they start to win him over and he allows them to scratch his ears, and 4) after another 20 minutes he is cuddling in their lap. This likely stems from not being socialized with new people as a puppy, and it may be something that can be improved with the help of a trainer.

Aldi is fine with other dogs and would enjoy playing with another dog of a similar size. He is good in the car. He does not appear to have had much previous training, so he has some lingering "puppy" behaviors like jumping on people, trying to steal human food, and chewing up tissues. It would be great for his new family to take him to a training class so he is safe and confident in his forever home.

Aldi has been doing great with his potty training. He occasionally tries to sneak off to mark his territory, but it's pretty easy to catch him before he does it because he never leaves his foster mom's side otherwise, and we expect that his house training will continue to improve now that he has been neutered. He is a good boy in his crate while his foster mom is at work, but he would love to have a family where someone is home for a good portion of the day. Small dogs can live well into their teens, so please keep that in mind when planning for a future with Aldi.

If Aldi sounds like your new best friend, apply to meet him today!
