Maximo is sooo excited to meet his new family; his name means "greatest" and it's quite fitting!
Max is crate trained, house trained and quite the busy bee! He enjoys playing with other dogs, chewing on bones, flinging toys around, running circles around the yard, following his foster mom around and checking in on the household cat.
At 2 years old and 30 pounds he is a ball of energy. Max is very food motivated and loves to learn. He knows some basic things like place, sit, walking on leash and comes when called but he would benefit from continued training.
Max is a love bug and very affectionate with his family and people he knows. He is wary of strangers and would need guidance when meeting new people.
He loves to stretch his legs and run he would love to have a fenced yard too.
He is currently living with 3 other dogs and a cat. He seems to do best with dogs that are about his size or smaller and would probably do fine as an only dog too. He does well being home alone during the workday but his new family would need to make sure he gets plenty of exercise and mental stimulation when they are home. Because he is a border collie/cattle dog, experience with herding breeds is a plus. Would probably do well with kids 8 and older.
If you're looking for a fun-loving, active dog, Maximo is your guy!
