REQUIRES 6 FT FENCE
Pierre the poodle is a male, approximately 3 year old poodle. He weighs about 55 - 60 pounds.
Pierre lived the beginning of his life in a cage in someone's backyard before he was rescued. Because of this he has some quirks.
- Pierre will not eat in front of any people. He has to be fed in his crate with all the people in another room for a while. Because of this we usually feed him 1 meal overnight and 1 meal when everyone is out of the house during the daytime.
- Have you heard of "fight or flight"? Pierre only knows about the 2nd option. He has been gentle to all people but when he gets spooked he bolts. Due to his size he is quite fast so he is not recommended to live with any small kids (teens with dog experience should be okay) or people who may be injured easily. A 6 foot fence is absolutely required and will be confirmed on a home visit. Pierre is learning how to walk on a leash and is making good progress.
- Pierre is starting to like toys! He didn't have toys in his old life but he has been checking them out at his foster home.
- Pierre gets along with dogs of all sizes. He's not sure how to play with them but he is great at co-existing. He likes to sit on the couch with the chihuahua at his foster home.
- Due to his past, Pierre really prefers the company of (human) women. He avoids men whenever he can.
The ideal home for Pierre is calm and patient with another dog friend of any size he can learn from.
