FENCED Yard … Another dog required … NO Apartments 

Luciella is an 8 year old Shih Tzu weighing about 12 pounds. She is a retired breeder dog who has spent her entire life having puppies. Now that she is in rescue, this is all in her past and her puppy days are over. 

Despite the life Luci had lived prior to coming to Needy Paws, she is an absolute sweetheart. She’s friendly to whoever she meets and wants nothing more than to just sit next to you on the couch or follow you around the house. Luci also loves playing with her stuffed toys. She has not been around kids but she’d probably be fine with older considerate children. 

Since Luci has spent her life not really being a dog, she will benefit from having another dog in the home to help her along and just for companionship.  She loves playing and just being around the other dogs in her foster home. Luci does tend to bark some when she’s left alone, so she is  NOT suited  for an apartment. She will also require a fenced in yard as she is still learning how to walk on a leash.

Luci is working on potty training and doing pretty well. As long as you pick up on her cues and let her out she does well. In her foster home she’s let out every few hours or more often if foster picks up her “I need to potty cue”. She does use potty pads but prefers to go outside.  When foster mom is gone doing errands Luci is gated in the kitchen.

Luciella’s adoption fee is $200.00, which includes up-to-date vaccinations, heartworm testing and preventative, spay/neuter and microchip.

We are a 100% foster-based rescue and all of our dogs live in approved foster homes. We are dedicated to finding the best Forever Homes, and will perform home visits and conduct veterinarian and reference checks for each potential adopter.
