** FENCED IN YARD AND COMPANION DOG REQUIRED **
Maggie Mae is about 4 years old and about 35 lbs
She is house trained, (mostly, had a few accidents overnight)
She is not crate trained.
Fence required as she does NOT walk on a leash.
She hasn’t shown any tendency to ‘door dash’ or try to get out of the yard.
Maggie is a pug mix who lived the beginning of her life with a backyard breeder / hoarder, and now she is looking for her forever home. In the meantime, she has been making her foster parents laugh! Maggie is very shy when you first meet her, but once she comes out of her shell she gets along great with dogs and people. She has been waiting by the door whenever she hears her people coming home so she can greet them. She also has a mischievous streak, and one day when her people forgot to close the pantry she brought them an unopened bag of lentils in case they wanted a snack. How thoughtful! She also does a silly dance when it is time for a treat.
*Maggie is currently being treated for heart worms and her new family will need to be willing to continue that treatment.
*Maggie does not like walking on a leash, and needs to be carried around out of the home. A secure fenced yard is required.
*Maggie would benefit from a patient family who has a similar sized dog already who can be a companion for Maggie.
*Maggie is very calm and gentle, and even though she hasn’t been tested with cats or kids, we think she would be fine.
