Little Jimmy Dutton loves to go for a walk as he is a typical Beagle and has a lot of energy. So he will need a family that is active. He does pretty good on a leash. Just a little zigzag. He does get startled a bit when a car goes by. He likes to be around other dogs and would do best with a confident doggie companion that can teach him how to be a dog. He likes to  play but get's a little shy with too rough of play He likes to be outside but wants you out there with him. He does have a high prey drive. So he will need a 6 foot secure fence, he can climb a shorter fence., he needs constant supervision while he is outside.

He's not sure about toys. Squeaky toys scare him. He likes stuffed ones the best. He carries them around but drops it. He loves attention, super sweet. Jimmy needs to be kept on a regular schedule to potty as he is still getting used to be an inside dog and will require some patience with training, he is okay in a tall puppy pen and is doing better not pottying in it, he is not a fan of a crate unless it is a big one where he does not feel like he is closed in. He would benefit from someone being home a lot, as he craves attention. 

In typical Beagle fashion he does bey when he wants something so he would not do well in an apartment or condo. He is shy and younger more active children would probably scare him, older children may be considered. Breed experience would also be a plus.

 

Jimmy is heartworm positive and received his first injection on 3/16/2022 and will need to take medicine and limit his activity for the next 30 days. He will then receive 2 more injection treatments.
