** NO KIDS **  DOESN'T LIKE BEING PICKED UP ***

Little Otter is shy at first and takes some time to warm up to you.

He loves to nap during the day, so he would fit perfectly in an apartment or city setting.

Otter is very food motivated and also loves going on walks. He is house trained.

Otter is Very Particular about being PICKED UP and mostly DOES NOT LIKE IT .   He will jump up on sofa/chair with you or jump into bed with you, but he HATES someone trying to pick him up and will snap/bite at you. We've known other ShihTzus similar to this and may be from how he was treated by previous owners. Other than that, he's such a sweet boy! When he's laying next to you on sofa, after he feels he can trust you, you can pet him softly and gain his trust.

The perfect family will be patient, NO kids and help this low energy pup love and trust you.

If you are interested, complete the   Adoption Application   on our website at   www.NeedyPaws.org   and we will contact you.   Adopters must live within an hour’s drive of St. Louis, MO.

Otter's adoption fee is $125.00   which includes up-to-date vaccinations, heartworm testing and preventative, spay/neuter and microchip.

We are a 100% foster-based rescue and all of our dogs live in approved foster homes. We are dedicated to finding the best Forever Homes, and will perform home visits and conduct veterinarian and reference checks for each potential adopter.
