Meet "TINKERBELLANNE", 'Tinker!' a Sweet Female, 8-10 yr old, 18 lb (overweight) -- Shih Tzu Mix

Her daddy overfed her a LOT.
She WEIGHED * 21 lbs *

Her foster mom has her on a correct amount of food, with a few dog treats. She also gets unsalted green beans and pumpkin for snacks! She's on her way to losing weight!
Her true weight, we believe, is around 14 lbs.
Tinkerbellanne is sweet, however, she is an ALPHA FEMALE DOG so even though she lives with other little dogs,
she will fight back if another dog fights her so other dogs in home should be laid back/submissive. She doesn't like dogs bothering her while she eats.
She loves to play with you, tugging with toy, bounces around barking at you and playbites,
Oh, and SNORE! She has a LOUD SNORE but foster mom said you kind of get used to it!
She usually sleeps in a dog bed on the floor next to your bed.
She also likes to lay in the dog bed on sofa while foster mom sits next to her working on laptop but you do have to lift her up to sofa and lift her down.

Weight Loss Program
to get her to a very healthy weight around 14 lbs.
NO FEEDING OFF TABLE.
Since she is HEAVY to pick up, it would be better if there were NO STEPS until she can get down to her appropriate weight. As she loses weight, I think she will prob start using steps.
Because of her previous
BAD eating habits and her very matted hair
that was shaved off,
her skin was in terrible condition with scabs, irritations and smell.
Her foster dad washes her with Medicated Dog Shampoo along with a medication she takes for her skin. Her skin continues to improve, and her hair has started to slowly grow back in. She likes her baths and does really well in tub.
She is 99% housebroken but still will have an occasional accident. We think some of that is the medication she is taking, but also she doesn't like the cold and I make her go outside. You will learn her habits and when she needs to go outside.
HER PERFECT FAMILY WOULD BE HOME A LOT WITH HER SO SHE HAS SOMEONE TO LOVE.
THE FAMILY WILL NOT LET HER GAIN BACK HER HEAVY WEIGHT AND PROVIDE HER NUTRITIONAL FOOD AND SNACKS.

Adoption fee is $125.00 which includes up-to-date vaccinations, heartworm testing and preventative, spay/neuter and microchip.
We are a 100% foster-based rescue and all of our dogs live in approved foster homes. We are dedicated to finding the best Forever Homes, and will perform home visits and conduct veterinarian and reference checks for each potential adopter.
