Meet "MARIPOSA", a Beautiful Female, 5 yr old (DOB 2/9/16), 13 lb -- HAVAPOO (Havanese Poodle).

=> She was from hoarder/breeder with no love or human touch, was pregnant and had 2 puppies.

She is VERY SHY and has been in foster homes for over 3 months that have helped her to trust, BUT her new family will need to CONTINUE HER TRUST TRAINING.

PLEASE ONLY APPLY IF you can give HER TIME - PATIENCE - LOVE while helping her grow in trust and she will continue to grow each day learning to be a normal dog, bonding with your dog and trusting you as a family.

MARIPOSA has REQUIREMENTS:

NO APARTMENTS - MUST HAVE A SECURE FENCED YARD
A QUIETER HOME since loud noises and lots of activity is scary for her.
We think Mariposa would be better in home with OLDER OR NO CHILDREN, LESS ACTIVITY.
A MUST is she NEEDS ANOTHER CONFIDENT DOG in the home; SHE CANNOT BE THE ONLY DOG.
She DOES NOT WALK ON LEASH YET.
Foster Parents still hook a leash to her outside and Mariposa drags the leash around the yard for practive and ALSO to make it easier to catch her since she is skiddish to pick her up.

Mariposa is so sweet but really DOES NOT understand how to love and be a family dog. Your dog will help with that. Foster parent has small steps up to the sofa and she uses those steps to lay on sofa next to foster mom. She does not like sitting in your lap, but once she feels safe with you, she lays really close to you. THIS WILL BE THE BEST TIME TO LOVE ON HER AND GAIN HER TRUST.

Her forever family must be VERY PATIENT.

HER PERFECT FAMILY WOULD BE HOME MOST OF DAY TO CONTINUE HER TRUST TRAINING, TALKING WITH HER, PETTING HER AND TREATING HER LIKE A QUEEN! AS WELL AS LETTING YOUR OTHER DOG SHOW HER HOW TO BE A FAMILY DOG.

IF YOU CANNOT PROVIDE FOR HER AS DESCRIBED ABOVE, YOUR APPLICATION WILL BE DENIED.

Mariposa’s adoption fee is $195.00, which includes up-to-date vaccinations, heartworm testing and preventative, spay/neuter and microchip.

We are a 100% foster-based rescue and all of our dogs live in approved foster homes. We are dedicated to finding the best Forever Homes, and will perform home visits and conduct veterinarian and reference checks for each potential adopter.
