Lindy is a scruffy black Yorkie/Chihuahua mix and she is all about the cuddles and kiss attacks! She is 1 year old and weighs about 10 lbs.
Lindy spent the first year of her life with her 5 siblings and was not well-socialized as a puppy. Please research undersocialized dogs to get a better idea of Lindy's needs before applying. In particular, Lindy is timid and anxious when it comes to new people and new experiences. If she is startled, she may run away or pee a little. In her foster home, she took about 2 days to come out of her kennel, but once she'd been won over with food and treats, she began to follow her foster mom everywhere and sleep in bed with her at night.
Lindy is trained to go potty on puppy pads and her foster mom is working on teaching her to go outside. She is still working on wearing her harness and leash, but she has been going on short walks with her foster mom in exchange for lots of treats. She would like to have an open crate available so that she has a safe space to go when she is feeling overwhelmed. The ideal home for Lindy would be a quiet household with at least one person home the majority of the time. She would not be a good fit for a home with a lot of activity or young children. She would be fine as an only dog but would also enjoy spending time with another (calm) dog.
Lindy is an incredibly loving dog and will make a wonderful family member for the right adopters who will use positive reinforcement to continue building her confidence. If that's you, please apply to meet her today!
