I'd like you to meet your newest best friend, Bongo!
This good boy was sent to us from Arkansas where he was definitely once owned by a loving family but unfortunately, was no longer in a good environment. Bongo is most likely around 2 years old, some type of collie/retriever/Shephard mix, and currently weighs around 55 lbs (which is probably a little too much).
Bongo has not met kids or cats yet, however, we have no reason to believe he would have any issues. This guy is as sweet as can be! He gets along very well with our 2 pups - one is small and the other is just his size, so, we think he would get along with just about any pup, but would also be fine without a fur sibling.
Have we mentioned that he is a good boy? Bongo is completely potty trained and leash trained! He is decently crate trained but is not the biggest fan of being crated. No worries, he is totally fine to be out alone in the house as he does not chew or get into mischief.
We have not tested this guy off-leash yet but we would recommend a fenced in yard so he can get lots of exercise. Though he does not dart away, he does have surprisingly quick feet.
If there is one thing that Bongo loves more than anything (aside from treats), it would be love and affection!! Bongo LOVES to be pet and, if he has the chance, will plop on top of you so you are forced to pet him. Beware of his "paw of approval" that he tends to throw at you when you are giving him the best scratches. He will also throw in some kisses, free of charge. :)
This sweet fluff deserves a family that will give him tons of love and attention. He is so forgiving and full of love. We can't wait to see him settled in with a new family.

Bongo’s adoption fee is $250.00, which includes up-to-date vaccinations, heartworm testing and preventative, spay/neuter and microchip.
We are a 100% foster-based rescue and all of our dogs live in approved foster homes. We are dedicated to finding the best Forever Homes, and will perform home visits and conduct veterinarian and reference checks for each potential adopter.
