This is Mavis, a Pretty 8 yr old, 7 lb Maltese. She was rescued from a breeding life, living in a cage and having multiple litters of puppies. Mavis did not have the loving human contact that she so deserved and her Forever Family MUST have Patience and Understanding about her Fears and Habits.
- She is still very shy / timid, and needs to learn to trust humans and build trust with new family.
- Since pooping was done in her crate for 8 years, she continues to get up in middle of night and poop on pad.
- She DOES NOT have recall so you cannot just let her go outside without some type of leash or control because she will not come back to you.
Her foster mom puts her in a small corral placed in the grass for her to pee throughout the day.

She has learned to pee on a pee pad, but is still practicing to pee outside. She poops in the middle of the night on potty pad.
- Mavis requires a secure, fenced yard because she needs to be protected from escaping.
- She is not leash trained so does not walk on leash but hopefully her new family will practice with her
- Mavis MUST have another confident dog in the family that will continue to show her a dog's real life.
- The family home needs to be quieter with NO children / noises so Mavis can feel relaxed.
- She is healthy but she had all her teeth pulled because her teeth were rotten from no care for 8 years.
- She eats Hills Science Diet Sensitive Stomach to help her digestion system and to be easier on her stomach.
- Mavis will run from you, but when you can corner her, pick her up and she will sit on your lap or next to you as she feels she can trust you.

Mavis’s adoption fee is $125.00, which includes up-to-date vaccinations, heartworm testing and preventative, spay/neuter and microchip.
We are a 100% foster-based rescue and all of our dogs live in approved foster homes. We are dedicated to finding the best Forever Homes, and will perform home visits and conduct veterinarian and reference checks for each potential adopter.
