Pretzel is a 1.5 year old, about 40 lb, German Shepherd mix. He is a very happy boy. He likes to run around our fenced in back yard and has fairly moderate energy. He is potty trained and respectful of things in the house. He would do best in a home with another dog. He gets anxious being left at home without another dog to keep him company.  He probably wasn’t walked often in his past life because he needs help mastering the concept of walking on a leash. He was also fed wet cat food, so he has no interest in dry food. He may need wet dog food at least mixed in with a dry food. I think he can be weaned off eventually to just the dry food once he realizes how tasty it is. He does well in the car and is working on his tricks!

His reaction to strangers or anyone approaching his home is loud, deep barking. But he seems to still be friendly with them. Like an alert bark. So, Pretzel would be a good guard dog. He would do best in a home with another dog.  Pretzel strictly needs a home without children under the age of 15 as he finds them a threat. Pretzel is also not going to do well in an apartment setting.

Pretzel’s adoption fee is $250.00, which includes up-to-date vaccinations, heartworm testing and preventative, spay/neuter and microchip.

We are a 100% foster-based rescue and all of our dogs live in approved foster homes. We are dedicated to finding the best Forever Homes, and will perform home visits and conduct veterinarian and reference checks for each potential adopter.
