Xena is a 13lb adorable chihuahua mix. She was used for breeding her entire life so she is still learning how to be a dog now at 7 years old. She currently is living with another chihuahua and she absolutely loves to play with her. She would be happiest with someone who also has a small breed dog for her to play with.
She does not like to be picked up or touched by humans as this scares her. If someone tries to pet her she usually growls out of fear. She loves to sleep on the heated blanket on the couch and chew on her bone during the day. Since she doesn’t like to be on a leash to go for walks she has been going on potty pads in the house. She has about a 85% success rate going on the pads. She would need someone with a backyard so that she can run around and potty outside. She has not been around cats and would be best around a low energy family. Sudden movements or noises are very scary to her so she would prefer being around a lower energy family. She still has lots of energy for a 7 year old and enjoys playing with toys or spazzing out for no reason. She has come a long way in the last two months from sitting in the corner all day not making eye contact to happily sitting on the couch with her fur sibling and relaxing or playing.

Xena’s adoption fee is $195.00, which includes up-to-date vaccinations, heartworm testing and preventative, spay/neuter and microchip.
We are a 100% foster-based rescue and all of our dogs live in approved foster homes. We are dedicated to finding the best Forever Homes, and will perform home visits and conduct veterinarian and reference checks for each potential adopter.
