Her Name is WHISPER and she's a 6 lb, 5 yr old, Maltese, a FORMER BREEDER DOG.
BEFORE APPLYING... YOU MUST READ THE TOTAL BIO BELOW.
APPLICATIONS RECEIVED WHO ARE NOT EXPERIENCED WITH THESE TYPES OF DOGS WILL BE DENIED.
Whisper is such a cute little dog, but she will need CONTINUAL TLC to GROW IN TRUST.
Requirements:
- MUST have fenced in secure yard
- MUST have Confident Dog in home to help her learn HOW to be part of family
- NO STEPS to go outside
- NO Children UNDER 16 yrs old
Whisper does not walk on leash yet and will need to learn down the road.
She is hard to catch in your home to pick her up, but when you do catch her, she will lay on your lap and calm down, sometimes licking your hand or arm.
She seems to like men more than women but that might change over time.
She currently sleeps in bed with foster parents and seems to be really loving before sleeping.
Whisper begins play with other confident dog in foster home with the "play bow" wagging tail.
Currently, does not play with toys, but that might happen over time.
To train her, you can keep a leash on her in the house and yard in case you cannot catch her, the leash helps to catch her.
PREFER NO STEPS TO GO OUTSIDE. The current foster home has steps, Whisper is "too afraid to go down the steps" but is able to run up the steps. Since she has to be picked up to carry down steps, when you do reach down to pick her up, she is still very nervous and "usually" pees and/or poops on the floor from nervousness. However, if she gets outside quickly, she will pee / poop outside.
The PERFECT ADOPTER FAMILY HOME will be someone who has the TIME to spend, teaching Whisper that humans are nice. She still needs to understand "loving human touch". Constant attention to Whisper, talking to her, holding her and keeping her close so she knows she is safe.

Whisper’s adoption fee is $195.00, which includes up-to-date vaccinations, heartworm testing and preventative, spay/neuter and microchip.
We are a 100% foster-based rescue and all of our dogs live in approved foster homes. We are dedicated to finding the best Forever Homes, and will perform home visits and conduct veterinarian and reference checks for each potential adopter.
