Haven is an extremely sweet young 16 lb. pup, who loves to play, but loves to snuggle even more! We believe that she is a Jack Russel mix due to her extreme jumping abilities and muscular form. Haven came to Needy Paws from animal control, who found her tied to a tree and abandoned. When she first arrived at her foster parents’ home, she was very timid and spent most of her time in the crate. After just a few days, she started to come out of her shell, and has continued to blossom ever since! She is dog friendly and loves most people. She will occasionally growl at men, but does not display aggression, and calms down after a short amount of time.

Long term, Haven’s foster mom thinks she would do best in a home with other dogs of any size, and without small children, as Haven can be easily startled by sudden movements. Older children would most likely be fine.

Unfortunately, Haven is Heartworm positive.  She will start her treatment mid-October. If she is adopted during her treatment, she will need a family who can keep her calm during this time.  She will have to only go outside on a leash and limit her physical activity until her treatment is complete, which will be a series of 3 injections. Needy Paws will cover all the costs of heartworm treatment.

Haven ’s adoption fee is $250.00, which includes up-to-date vaccinations, heartworm testing and preventative, spay/neuter and microchip.

We are a 100% foster-based rescue and all of our dogs live in approved foster homes. We are dedicated to finding the best Forever Homes, and will perform home visits and conduct veterinarian and reference checks for each potential adopter.
