Prefer to stop and smell the roses? Kirby is the perfect dog for you! He loves nothing more than slow walks through the garden (or the weeds....he isn't picky!) to sniff every flower he can find.
Kirby is a Shih Tzu with soft, curly black and white fur and a cute little underbite. He's 10 years old and around 12 lbs. Kirby LOVES to cuddle and give kisses. He'll start at one end of the couch and slowly scoot closer and closer until he's snuggling right next to you. He gets along just fine with other dogs, but really, he just wants to be near "his" people. He enjoys belly rubs and gentle brushing.
Kirby is potty trained, crate trained, and apartment-friendly. He walks great on a leash. He is mostly deaf, but it doesn't slow him down one bit. He enjoys riding in the car, especially if he has a booster seat to help him see out the window. A few areas of his fur had to be shaved when he came into rescue, so he's currently sporting a "punk rock muppet" haircut, but he'll have a beautiful coat once it grows back in.
Kirby will make a wonderful companion for someone who can spend lots of time with him. He would love to spend his golden years with you!

Kirby’s adoption fee is $125.00, which includes up-to-date vaccinations, heartworm testing and preventative, spay/neuter and microchip.
We are a 100% foster-based rescue and all of our dogs live in approved foster homes. We are dedicated to finding the best Forever Homes, and will perform home visits and conduct veterinarian and reference checks for each potential adopter.
