Hi, I'm Charlie Brown. And I say, All you need is love...and a dog with chocolate brown soulful eyes. A nice lady who worked at a vet's office found me on the side of the road. I was wounded, skinny and dehydrated. At first, they thought they were going to have to euthanize me, but I surprised them and was able to stand up with some help from pain pills. I've seen three different doctors including at VSS and Mizzou and they say I have an issue with both of my back legs. One has pellets in it from when I was shot and the other has torn ligaments. The good news is I am in some pain, but not a lot. I am able to go up and down stairs, but need help getting up and down from the couch, bed and car. Probably as a result of the trauma I have experienced, I have seizures sometimes when sleeping. I am on medicine for that too. I will most likely need to take medication for the seizures for the rest of my life. It costs around $2 a day and I require blood work every six months as part of my ongoing care. The doctors believe I can live a good life! The rescue will pay for Charlie Brown's medicine for his first year.  I need a home without many stairs or someone who doesn't mind picking me up when needed. Everyone agrees I am   the sweetest boy. I am friendly with    doggo friends and older children. That being said, I do get a bit excited when my friends play with toys or balls, so it is probably best I am in a home as the only dog or with another calm dog and I would not be a good fit for an apartment.     My friends say, 'Chuck, you get along with everyone." Good grief, all I want to do is snuggle and be petted in my furever home. I do need someone to lift into bed, but if I could spend all day snuggling I would.    My foster mom lets me sleep with her because she says I am such a good boy.
