Kris is a 5 yr old, female (Puppy Mill) Maltese, weighing 9 lbs.

Kris, as a Puppy Mill Dog, was locked in a crate for 5 years with no understanding of the outside world including no loving contact with humans.

Kris has been with Needy Paws Rescue for 3+ weeks and is still in very early stages of understanding normal dog life.  

•  She d oes not want to be touched, however, when tricked to get on   couch, she accepts very few strokes and then runs.
•  Has interest in other mill dog at foster home.
•  Does not like or understand leash.
•   Kris is not potty trained and it will take time for her to understand   what it means to potty outside.
•  Kris is hard to catch when you need to pick her up.

With puppy mill dogs, there is no timeframe as to when/if they will become the normal dog.   Most times they will take a year to truly trust you and then you are their person.   Some of them do better than others but there are no guarantees since they are the older of the bunch and lived a bad life for 5 years.

Kris REQUIRES both a fence and another confident dog in the home.

Kris ’s adoption fee is $195.00, which includes up-to-date vaccinations, heartworm testing and preventative, spay/neuter and microchip.

We are a 100% foster-based rescue and all of our dogs live in approved foster homes. We are dedicated to finding the best Forever Homes, and will perform home visits and conduct veterinarian and reference checks for each potential adopter.
