Please research this breed before considering applying for adoption.  Xerxes is a purebred shiba inu   He's large for the breed at just under 30lbs.  He's 2 1/2 years old and has been in the same home since he was 9 weeks old until he came to his foster home.  He's very affection with his foster mom and seems receptive to most humans.  He apparently is good with 7-12 year old children but unknown for sure with younger.  He would lick the face of the baby in his previous home.  Foster mom guesses he would be good with small children but he is very active so might be a little much with anyone with small children.   He has been very anxious since he's been in his new foster home and screams from his crate when his foster mom leaves the house.   He has not been destructive in his crate though.  He appears to be completely potty trained with no accidents although his foster home has a doggie door.  He would do best in a home where someone is home most of the time.  He is not particular fond of the other two dogs in his foster home but tolerates them for the most part.  He is protective of his crate with the other dogs.  However he does not particular be protective of his food at this time.  He likes to play with balls and will chase a ball or play with it by his self.  He's a good little guy looking for a home where he feels secure.

Xerxes ’s adoption fee is $250.00, which includes up-to-date vaccinations, heartworm testing and preventative, spay/neuter and microchip.

We are a 100% foster-based rescue and all of our dogs live in approved foster homes. We are dedicated to finding the best Forever Homes, and will perform home visits and conduct veterinarian and reference checks for each potential adopter.
