*Awesome Traveler- stays calm and w/o excessive barking. House & Crate trained- Excellent!
(Not allowed here, but she would love to sleep in her human’s bed). After 2 nd night, she slept in
her crate with door open. Does not wander during the night.
*In process of being leash trained – Likes walking fast! - Will pull when bird/squirrel/rabbit is
spotted. (Working on redirecting her attention).
*NO Pet Birds-She Loves to chase them too much. *Cat Introductions: None yet.
*Older Children would be best. With proper introductions, could be younger, depending how
calm the child is. She likes to greet by jumping up, and this may topple a small child.
(We are working on Off command to correct this habit).
Great Watch Dog- Barks but will quiet with appropriate commands/assurance. She has sharp
sensitive hearing, and she startles easily with unknown noises and fast movements.
*Nyla is so smart and has a sweet sensitive personality. Seems easily trainable as she is very
snack motivated. She just wants... to please. Will sit by the table quietly while her humans eat
and does not aggressively “beg”. She buzzes around house/yard when she is happy. If she is
yelled at too harshly, she will get her “feelings” hurt. Her previous owners say she’s never been mistreated. She’s just a sensitive soul. When you talk to her, she’ll cock her head, and then your
heart starts to melt. I so enjoy working with her. And… she lets me brush her teeth!
*At first, she greets almost everyone with a growl. Seems to be afraid/shy. (I am working on
giving her more socialization). It just takes her longer to warm up to new people, new dogs,
and new situations. Does ok with calmer dogs, after proper intro. Gets defensive with greeting
hyper or overly excited dogs. She growled at my husband for 2 days, but by 3rd day, they were
lounge chair best buds. Never growled at me. Not sure why. I’m the Alpha; I’m female? hmm
*As long as a person(s) will take the time to work consistently with her on her commands,
learned and new ones, she can become the perfect addition to any family. She just needs a
family with the patience to get past her first impression of tough mutt front. She does like to be
greeted with treats! Totally a sweetheart, who will give kisses and loves tummy rubs, and will
keep your lap/feet/legs warm.
She knows NO, OFF, SIT, and COME, and is learning STOP, STAY, DOWN, and NO LICK!
